SABLE’S VALUES
ART. We believe in the power of art for inspiration, questioning, reflection, healing, growth, joy, justice, and more.
LAND. We believe in growing healthy food and our connection to place.*
*Sable is located within Wôbanakik (“Dawn Land,”) unceded territory of the Alnôbak/Abenaki ("People of the Dawn Land”). As guests, we commit to stewarding the land with care, intention, and joy. Learn more about The Sable Land on Abenaki Territory.
COMMUNITY. We believe in bringing people together for creative collaboration, cultivating long-term connections,
and investing in people for their well-being.
COLLECTIVE LIBERATION. We believe that our liberations are all entangled with each other’s and that making art, connecting to land, and building community are necessary for working towards collective liberation.

The Sable Project Residency Program
brings artists of different mediums together
to live and work on the land, off the grid, to grow food and make art.
We build from a foundation of collaboration, physical work, and environmental awareness
to push participating artists out of habits and towards their greater potential.
We explore ways of living simply, collectively, and creatively on a daily basis.
We share our work with surrounding communities through bi-weekly
public gatherings and an end-of-summer showcase.
We aim to inspire by creating inquisitive art and educational experiences for both resident artists and visitors.
