Mountain Movement Intensive: June 5th - June 11th
Mountain Movement Intensive is a week-long intensive led by Jeremy Cline at The Sable Project in Stockbridge, VT. Designed for dancers, circus artists, physical actors, creative athletes, directors, and choreographers, time will be split between movement technique class and the creation of a new work, which will be presented on the last day of the intensive to the Sable/Stockbridge community.
Technique class will represent Jeremy Cline’s diverse movement background, drawing from contemporary/modern dance, capoeira, bboying, contact improvisation, circus arts, physical theater, partnering, and improvisation. The goal of technique is to help movers to expand their physical abilities of flexibility, acrobatics, agility, and strength, as well as to help improve their level of comfort in inverted and unusual positions. Piece creation will include a number of smaller choreographic prompts that will accumulate into our final piece, presented in Sable’s brand new outdoor theater. In addition to working on the stage, participants will take advantage of the unique environment of Sable and create site-specific choreography to be captured as video projects. Participants will learn how to effectively execute their movement ideas in a number of contexts, as individuals and with collaborators. All participants will receive footage of their site-specific projects and the final stage performance.
Drop-ins for morning classes are welcome!
