Hannah Firestone
Hannah Firestone (she, her) is originally from Cambridge MA, and now lives in Brooklyn, NY. She is a multidisciplinary artist, reveling in dancing, choreography, devising and directing dance-theater works, painting, writing, and knitting. She has collaborated extensively with musicians and composers and is particularly interested in building dance around live music and for bodies with little or no formal dance training. She aims to use art to remind people of what is precious about being alive, and of their own preciousness.
While at Sable, she participated in the Mountain Movement Intensive as well as a one-week residency. In this time, she created two original dance films, one of which was set in the White River. She also worked on a young adult novel about falling in love in Harvard Square, as well as several paintings of poppies inspired by Sable's exquisite poppy patch.
A fun fact about Hannah, and about Sable, is that she learned from Jeremy Cline that buckwheat greens are edible and delicious, and she's been telling everyone who will listen about it ever since.
