Ella Floyd (she/her/hers) is an interdisciplinary artist based in Richmond, Virginia. Raised in Appalachia, Floyd left the foothills of Southwest Virginia to pursue her BFA in Photography at Virginia Commonwealth University. While at Sable, Floyd developed a site-specific installation, titled "Killmore," further exploring themes of Appalachian archive, nostalgia, and chemical interaction. When Floyd wasn't taking Polaroid pictures or using the typewriter, you could find her seeking out her next Maple Creemee!
Ella returned to Sable at the end of August to document the last week of the creative process and culminating performances of Water in the Wood by The Sable Ensemble.
